Quilt Show Entry Deadline Extended
The deadline for the 12th annual “Pieces of the Good Life” quilt show, which will be held in the Lied Auditorium at the Raymond A. Whitwer Tilden Public Library during the Tilden Prairie Days celebration on July 25 – 27, 2014, has been extended until July 15th. Entry forms for submitting items are available at the Tilden Public Library or clicking here, and should be submitted to the Tilden Library by the deadline date. The Quilt committee will take delivery of all submitted quilts and quilt items on Monday July 21 from 10:00 am – 8:00 pm at the Tilden Public Library, 202 S. Center St, Tilden, NE. It is suggested that the quilts and quilted materials be brought in a pillowcase, or a cloth wrap or bag. Those submitting will be given a receipt for your item(s) on Monday, July 21, which you will need to present on Sunday at the end of the exhibit.
The Schedule for this year’s Pieces of the Good Life Quilt show will be Friday July 25 from 9 am to 6 pm, Saturday July 26 from 9 am to 5 p m, and Sunday July 27 from 12 noon to 2:30 pm. For your enjoyment, Pat Kuhns from Lincoln, NE, will give her trunk show presentation of Miniature Quilts on Sunday July 27th at 3:00 pm in the library by the fireplace, while quilts are being removed from the exhibit.
The committee would like to see entries from a variety of communities, age groups, and all walks of life, so whether it’s one you create yourself, a family heirloom you cherish, or a cozy quilt you curl up with, share your love of quilting with others at this year’s quilt show, and let’s make it a show to remember!
Book Signing during Prairie Days
Meet Renée Budde, author of the book Cody: Life Lessons Inspired by My Spirited Mare. Renée will be in the Library for a Book Signing during Prairie Days on Saturday, July 26 from 11 am – 1 pm. Copies of her book will be available for purchase.
